Research Areas

Image processing and computer vision is one of the demanding research areas in recent times. To full fill the current global as well as the local demand, peoples from IIT perform different types of research on this field. The main goal of this research group is to perform high quality research in image enhancement, object detection and recognition, scene category recognition, face image analysis, medical image processing and also to create high quality and significant value added real life applications based on digital image processing. Apart from image processing and computer vision, IIT also addresses pattern recognition issues in other domains like Bioinformatics and Software Engineering. The pattern recognition works are mainly based on machine learning such as defect identification for software and motif identification for salt tolerant rice.
