Research Areas

Software engineering possesses a broad area of research, where people can explore on various sub-disciplines such as requirements engineering, software design, software testing etc. Although, research processes in field of biology, physics or medicine are well-refined, these are not yet explicitly identified in software engineering making it a challenging as well as interesting field of research. From the root of software engineering, several branches of research have grown over the years. IIT focuses on some of these fields that include software design, requirements prioritization, software performance testing, code analysis, defect prediction, test automation, software maintenance, etc.
